Grounded by wind
Rock climbing, then about 1,800 vertical feet up to the Werfen ice cave. When the wind cancelled flying, we treated ourselves to a thermal spa.
The launch
On a steep alpine launch, Sandra lost control of her wing at the cliff edge and had to abort. That was a real life or death moment.
Afterwards we talked it through: the failure, and trying anyway. Being scared and going again is most of what we do. Doing it with someone who will talk it through with you is the part that makes it possible.
Why we make these films
Battling Monsters is the mental health movement Jamie Leibert founded. PTSD is the monster. A wingsuit is how he manages it. Not a recovery story. A daily fight, filmed. Every film on this site is free because the people who need it most are the ones who cannot pay for it.
