Why
The war between Russia and Ukraine was closing borders, and the van was dying. A boat meant closed roads could not strand the attempt.
The plan
A 32-foot sailboat, bought sight unseen. I admit I started the negotiations behind Sandra's back. The plan: cross into Turkey, drive to the boat, and sail, despite not knowing how to sail yet.
Why we make these films
Battling Monsters is the mental health movement Jamie Leibert founded. PTSD is the monster. A wingsuit is how he manages it. Not a recovery story. A daily fight, filmed. Every film on this site is free because the people who need it most are the ones who cannot pay for it.
