The Story
Jamie climbs under a tandem paraglider above the valley, then lets go in a wingsuit for the first pass by the tallest castle on earth. The towers rush past just 3 meters from the suit.
It started with a text
It started with a text: "I have an idea." The idea was Neuschwanstein, the castle in Bavaria that inspired Disney's fairytale castle. Nobody had ever flown a wingsuit past it. This film is the world's first wingsuit flight past Neuschwanstein, flown on November 9th, 2022, with thanks to Fabian Lederle.
No cliff, so they made one
A wingsuit needs height and speed, and there is no cliff next to the castle. So the team went up under a tandem paraglider with Jamie already in his wingsuit, climbing high above the valley until there was enough air below to fly.
The film shows the scouting, the launch and the long climb under the paraglider. Every minute of it is spent waiting for one moment: the drop.
Past the towers
Jamie let go. Then it was him, the wingsuit and the towers coming at him. He flew about 3 metres from the tower before turning away, opening his parachute and landing safely in the valley.
Why this one matters
Big ideas do not arrive as plans. They arrive as a text that says I have an idea, and then a lot of slow, careful work turns them into something you can actually fly. That is the Battling Monsters way of facing anything hard: say it out loud, build the plan, then go.
