FEED A STRAY
A DAY

A global movement built on one simple idea: every stray dog deserves to eat today. Started by Jamie Leibert and Sandra Zinovyev. Spreading through 80+ countries. Powered by people who show up on what they've got - every single day.

The Origin

It Started With a Dog in Turkey

As Jamie and Sandra traveled through Turkey during the Captain Manicorn mission, they kept seeing the same thing: stray dogs everywhere, hungry, sick, and ignored. So they stopped. They fed them. They gave them water, affection, and flea/tick medication.

Then they kept stopping. In every country. Every day.

#FeedAStrayADay was never designed to be a program. It grew organically from a habit - the daily choice to notice the animals that get overlooked, and do something about it with what you have on hand.

The movement has now spread to a global community operating in 80+ countries. The only requirement to participate: find a stray, feed it, and share it. No organization required. No bureaucracy. Just the daily decision to care.

Sandra leads the animal welfare side of the mission. The three-legged rescue dog who travels with them is Journey - a dog they rescued along the way. Journey is the mascot of the movement: proof that you can show up every day on what you've got.

Journey
Three-Legged Rescue Dog · Movement Mascot
Rescued during the Captain Manicorn mission, Journey is a three-legged dog who travels full-time with Jamie and Sandra. She represents the core philosophy of #FeedAStrayADay: you show up on what you've got, every single day - even with three legs. Every stray they meet gets what Journey got: food, care, and someone who noticed.

Sandra Zinovyev

Sandra is the co-founder of Just Care More and the driving force behind #FeedAStrayADay. Her passion for animal welfare has been part of the Captain Manicorn mission since day one. She also manages logistics, route planning, and the day-to-day operations of life on the road.

How to Participate Today

No sign-up. No fee. Just four steps - then share it with the world.

01
Find a Stray
Look around. Strays are everywhere - outside restaurants, near markets, along roads. They're easy to ignore. Choose not to.
02
Feed & Water
Bring food or buy something nearby. Provide fresh water. Even a small amount makes a real difference to an animal that hasn't eaten today.
03
Show Affection
Pet them, talk to them, sit with them for a minute. Many strays have never been touched kindly. This matters more than you think.
04
Share It
Post your photo or video with #FeedAStrayADay. Tag @BattlingMonsters. Show the world what daily care looks like - and inspire the next person to do the same.

"You show up on what you've got. Every single day. Even with three legs."
