Who Is Jamie Leibert?
Jamie Leibert is the founder of Battling Monsters and director of Just Care More, Inc. (EIN 47-3874536), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Blythe, California. He is better known as Captain Manicorn, adventure athlete, filmmaker, and founder of the Battling Monsters movement.
Before any of that, Jamie spent years deep in meth and alcohol addiction, and served 4 years in federal prison. He spent roughly 25% of his life in the system. He talks about this openly, without softening it, because it is the foundation of everything he built afterward.
The Timeline
Addiction - Meth and Alcohol
Years of drug use built around the extreme sports scene - dropzones, BASE jumping weekends, raging. The addiction was not a secret. It was the lifestyle.
Federal Conviction - 4 Years in Prison
A federal drug charge. Four years incarcerated. The event that took everything and, Jamie says, gave him the only forced pause that ever worked.
2015 - Just Care More Founded
Just Care More, Inc. incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The mission: inspire transformation through adventure, storytelling, and real programs for people who've been through the worst.
2017 - Camp Care More Launched
Adventure sports camps for at-risk youth. Running continuously for 9+ years. Proof of work before anyone was paying attention.
The Phone Call from Voss, Norway
At Ekstremsportveko - one of the world's biggest extreme sports festivals - Jamie called Sandra and told her he wasn't coming home. After a long conversation, they made a decision: sell everything, buy a van, and pursue the Captain Manicorn mission.
Captain Manicorn - The Mission
The documentary series launched. 18 episodes. 250M+ views worldwide. Coverage from BBC, Fox 32 Chicago, IMDB, Romania Insider, Kanal D, and international press across multiple countries.
Battling Monsters - The Program
The lived experience became a structured daily framework. Battling Monsters is a PTSD management program built from addiction, incarceration, and daily management, now reaching more than a half million people. The mission is ongoing.
Sandra Zinovyev, Ladycorn
Jamie's partner in life and in the mission is Sandra Zinovyev, known as Ladycorn. Sandra manages logistics, route planning, and day-to-day operations of the Captain Manicorn mission. She leads the #FeedAStrayADay movement, providing food, affection, and flea/tick medication to stray dogs in every country they pass through, now active in 80+ countries. The three-legged rescue dog who travels with them, Journey, is the mascot of that movement.
The Programs Jamie Built
Everything Jamie runs under Just Care More connects back to the same origin: someone who went through the worst and found a way through it - and believes that path is shareable.
